- 1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) peanut butter cookie mix
- 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1 egg
- 18 miniature (1 inch square) candy bars, unwrapped
- 1 container chocolate frosting
Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, stir cookie mix, oil, water and egg until soft dough forms. Form dough into 36 1-inch balls; press into ungreased mini muffin cups.
Cut each candy bar in half; press one piece of candy bar into center of dough in each cup. Bake 9-11 minutes, or till edges are light brown. Cool completely in pan, about 30 minutes.
Remove from pan to serving plate. Spoon frosting into pastry bag witted with star tip. Pipe frosting on top of each cookie cup. Decorate with sprinkles if desired.
NOTES: you can see form my photo that mine didn't all stay in the round, "cup" shape. This is mostly because, when you are trying to push a candy bar into a peanut butter cup that is smaller than it, things tend to get misshapen. Hey, they still tasted good. Also, I didn't think they needed that much frosting since there was so much sugar already involved. I made a super small batch of my mom's powdered sugar frosting and just lightly went over the tops. This was just enough.
