Tyler's Tasty Tacos

This is a recipe my mom taught me long ago. Super simple, you can make it yours in so many ways, but a good way to get comfortable and experience in the kitchen. We needed a simple meal for a week so I taught Tyler this recipe to keep his education going in the kitchen.
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup taco seasoning
  • 1 cup water
  • 6 8-inch flour tortillas
  • lettuce, shredded cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa (optional)
Brown ground beef in skillet and drain excess fat. Choose your favorite taco seasoning, add this and 1 cup of water to the skillet. Stir, cover and let simmer for at least 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While that simmers, rinse and shred your lettuce, and arrange your toppings for your taco bar. Warm up tortillas if necessary. Once meat has simmered, use a slotted spoon to serve meat and create your taco!

NOTES: We learned that not all taco seasonings are the same. We used a quarter cup of the WinCo bulk seasoning, and it was quite spicy! I think we used McCormick brand growing up and I really liked that and it wasn't spicy. Test things out with types and quantities until you get your flavor that you like. Add veggies (onions and peppers) and really put your flair on this recipe. Tell me your favorite add-ins in the comments.
