Strawberry Whipped Sensation

Made these a few weeks ago for a church function. Surprisingly enough, they transported pretty well in the 100 degree heat. I took them out of their original small dish to cut them into serving sizes and then placed them in a slightly larger glass dish, on top of ice packs, inside an insulated carrier. Stuck them in the fridge, as is, when I got there, and they were fine to eat about an hour later.
  • 4 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 16 Oreos
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 8 oz Cool Whip
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
Line either 9x9 inch pan or 8x4 inch loaf pan with wax paper. Finely crush cookies with filling. Add melted butter; press on bottom of pan to make crust. Cut strawberries into small pieces. Mix strawberries, milk, 1 1/2 cups thawed Cool Whip and lemon juice. Pour on top of crust. Freeze about 6 hours. Frost top with Cool Whip before serving.

NOTES: I needed a lot more Oreos and butter for my crust than they called for. About double, so I updated that in the recipe. Granted I was making mine in an 8x8 pan and not a small loaf pan, so keep that in mind when calculating how much you will need. I used my Magic Bullet to crush the Oreos and it was so much faster than doing it by hand. Plus it made the pieces a lot more evenly crushed.

I also added the instructions on lining the pan with waxed paper. This made it easy to get the snacks out of the pan once they were frozen. I didn't end up topping my dessert with the remaining Cool Whip. It just seemed unnecessary and the treat was already to the top of my pan.
