Grilled Garlic Naan

Does anyone know the difference between naan and pita bread? I know I have eaten both before but couldn't really tell you the difference. I used pita bread, because it's what was at the store. But I have done my research since then and found out naan is different.

According to my internet searches, naan, has egg, yogurt or some kind dairy in it that makes it softer than pita. It bubbles, a little like a tortilla, when it cooks. Pita bread is definitely more of a bread-like consistency.

Even though I used the wrong type of bread, this still tasted really good and went well with our cherry pork recipe (which I will post soon).

  • 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 naan flatbreads
Stir together butter and garlic. Place naan on grill rack; grill over medium-high heat until bottom is golden brown, about 2 minutes. Flip and brush top with garlic butter. Grill until golden brown.

Serves 2

Total Time: 10 minutes
