I wanted to cook something a little different. I don't often get a chance to do small breakfast things because they always seem to be casserole-feed-an-army type dishes. This was a nice change and tasted great.

I had no troubles with this recipe, other than figuring out what "brickle chips" are. I googled. In the baking section (where they sell the chocolate chips and stuff) they have Heath bar toffee bits. That's what you're looking for. (you're welcome).
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup English toffee bits or brickle chips
Topping
- 1 tsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp sugar

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips and toffee bits. Drop by 2 tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Brush with melted butter; sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 425 degrees for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. Server warm.
Freezer option: Freeze cooled biscuits in resealable plastic freezer bags. To use, heat in preheated 350 degree oven 15-20 minutes.
Serves 1 1/2 dozen
Total time: 25 minutes
