Butterbeer

Who doesn't love Harry Potter? If you raised your hand, we are no longer friends. :-) Just kidding! Our family is a huge fan and have been lucky enough to travel to some Harry Potter-themed locations. They always serve Butterbeer and various "authentic recipes" at these attractions. Some of them are very good. However, if I'm being honest, I am not really a fan of their Butterbeer recipe. *gasp*

Before I get crucified by Harry Potter purists, friends of ours found a recipe for Butterbeer and modified it and I like their version a lot better. Since no one really knows how the food tasted in the books, I choose to believe this is what Butterbeer would have tasted like if I was a Hogwarts student.

  • 3-4 Tbsp butterscotch ice cream topping
  • 2 glasses cream soda
  • 7 oz marshmallow creme
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Add last 3 ingredients together in a bowl and, using a mixer, combine until smooth. Pour the soda and butterscotch evenly into glasses and top with the amount of cream mixture desired.

Serves 2

Total Time: 5 minutes
