I don't know how I went so much of my life without having Heath bars or toffee in general, but man, I do like them! This is a fairly no-fuss breakfast recipe that transports well, can be made ahead of time, and doesn't take all day to bake. Tastes good to boot!
- 1/2 cup soft margarine
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
- 3 Heath candy bars, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix margarine, white sugar, brown sugar, and flour together until crumbly. Reserve 1/2 cup mixture for topping.
To unreserved mixture, add buttermilk, egg, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Top with reserved flour mixture, nuts, and candy bars.
Bake for 30-35 minutes.
