Boston Cream Pie Cake

Our wonderful neighbor, Amy, made this to bring to our Oscars party a few months ago. I keep meaning to post the recipe because it was AMAZING. And it's so simple. I hope this is the exact recipe she told me, because it sounds really similar. You have to try it.
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • eggs, oil, water called for on box
  • 2 (3.4 oz) boxes instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 tub chocolate frosting
Make cake according to directions and bake in a well-greased 9x13 inch pan. In a bowl, add milk to pudding mixture and continue to whisk until most of the lumps are removed. Pour pudding on top of warm cake. Use a spoon to spread it evenly over the surface.

Place cake in fridge and allow to cool completely, about 2 hours. Spread frosting evenly over the cake. Start in the middle and gently spread to the sides. Place in fridge to fully cool and set up.

NOTES: The recipe I found online is for a poke cake. I'm 95% sure the one Amy brought was not a poke cake.
