Grilled Asian Garlic Steak Skewers

Sorry about not posting last week. Vacation and being out of town and all that threw me off. But to make up for it, here is a fantastic recipe to try. Though you may want to hold off trying to grill with all the rain and weather that's going on.... Stick this in your back pocket for later.

This was delicious. I have quite a bit of steak at my house right now because of some couponing deals so I'm trying to find different ways to use it. We will definitely be doing this recipe again.

It was a quick one and I had most of the ingredients on hand from other recipes. I didn't use fresh ginger, just the powdered stuff you get in the spice aisle.
  • 1 1/2 lbs top sirloin steak
  • 1 red onion
  • 2/3 cup soy sauce
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 Tbsp sesame seeds
  • sliced green onions, for garnish
  • skewers soaked in water
Cut steak into 1-inch cubes. Cut onion into large chunks and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, vegetable oil, sugar, ginger and sesame seeds. Add the steak and toss to coat in marinade. Marinate for 3 hours or overnight.

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the meat and onion onto the skewers. Grill for 8-10 minutes, or until the meat is done to your liking. Sprinkle with green onions.
