Sauteed Asparagus

As I said before, it is the season for asparagus, though it is getting a little hard to find some nice looking bunches at the store. I've learned that WinCo doesn't usually have the best quality produce so I checked Target (a small improvement) and then Save Mart (much better). I guess you just have to know where to go for certain things. Luckily, I live near quite a few grocery stores now so I can afford to comparison shop.

Doug and I were introduced to this recipe at our friends' house. They have a beautiful house at the coast that they let us visit and they always feed us new and interesting recipes. Since Doug and I spent the last weekend at the beach house, I decided it would be appropriate to prepare this for part of our meal.

We don't really use specific measurements so I've estimated below. It ends up being whatever tastes good so tweak it as you like!
  • 2 Tbsp garlic olive oil (or garlic powder and regular olive oil)
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water, more as needed
  • 1 bundle asparagus
Add all ingredients to frying pan. Let simmer, sautéing occasionally. Add water as it evaporates. Cook until just tender.

Serves: 4
Total Time: 15 min
