Naughty Brownies

For those of you who were lucky enough to get to try these, you know this isn't the given name of the recipe. However, in order to make it a little more family friendly, I have changed the original word to "Naughty." Feel free to call them whatever you want, including amazing, because that's what they are!
  • one 16.5 oz tube refrigerated cookie dough
  • one 14.3 oz container regular Oreos
  • one boxed brownie mix (about 18-21 oz)
  • eggs, oil, water as needed by your brownie mix
Grease or line with foil the bottom of a 9 x 11 dish. Layer cookie dough evenly on the bottom. Arrange whole Oreo cookies across top of cookie dough. In a large bowl, mix brownie mix according to instructions on box and then pour over the Oreos and dough in the pan. Bake according to the box directions. You will most likely need to increase the bake time. Check with a toothpick in the center to make sure brownies are cooked through. They can be gooey. Best served warm.

NOTES: I broke my cookie roll in half, placed a half roll at each of the far ends of the dish and sort of gently used my hands like I was kneading dough to get them to meet in the middle. It will be pretty thin, but it should be able to easily cover the whole bottom of the dish.

I didn't use an entire container of Oreos, but came pretty close. I just made rows of them on top of the cookie dough to make sure everyone would get some Oreo in every bite. You know what would be a delicious substitution? Andes Mints. I'll have to try that sometime.

I had to increase my cooking time by at least 10 minutes and my brownies were still pretty gooey in the middle. Don't freak out that you are going to burn them. Just keep checking them at 5 minute intervals after the first large chunk of cooking time.

I cut mine into really small, about 1-inch square, pieces. I knew they would be rich and I wanted more people to get to taste them. This is actually a great size for a party. I probably had at least 24-30 pieces for people to try.

Serves 18 medium size brownies
