Mini Nutella Doughnuts

Doughnuts + Nutella, where can you go wrong? Nowhere! These were delicious and I loved them and I would totally make them again.

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1 tube (16.3 oz) large refrigerated flaky biscuits (8 count)
  • 2/3 cup Nutella
  • oil for deep fat frying
  • powdered sugar
Whisk egg with water. On a lightly floured surface, roll each biscuit into a 6-inch circle; cut each into 4 wedges. Brush lightly with egg mixture in the middle, avoiding the edges. Top each wedge with 1 tsp Nutella. Bring up corners over filling; pinch edges firmly to seal.

In a large cast-iron or electric skillet; heat oil to 350 degrees. In small batches, place doughnuts in hot oil, seam side down; fry until golden brown, 1-2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar; serve warm.

NOTES: I changed the recipe a little to make clear something I learned. It is so much easier to pinch the edges of the biscuit wedges together if they are not wet and gooey with egg wash. So try your best to just get the egg in the middle of the wedge so they stay pinched while you are frying them.

Makes 32 doughnuts

Total Time: 30 minutes
