Broccoli Salad

This recipe is one Doug's grandma used to make for him growing up. We found this in an old family cookbook so I agreed to make it for him (even though I'm not a fan of broccoli). He said it was just as he remembered!

  • 1 bunch broccoli, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 lb bacon, fried, crumbled
  • 1 cup raisins
Dressing

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
Combine first 5 ingredients together in a medium bowl. Place all dressing ingredients together in a blender and blend until well mixed. Pour over salad and mix.

NOTES: The recipe originally called for a full pound of bacon and, believe it or not, it was WAY too much.

Serves 10-12
